NASA's SkyFall Mars Helicopters Will Feature a Revolutionary Antenna Design
NASA is developing a trio of helicopters for the SkyFall mission to search for shallow water ice on Mars. The helicopters will use ground-penetrating radar with a flexible, fabric-based antenna that folds during landings and recently passed extensive testing at JPL. The mission is targeted for a 2028 launch aboard the nuclear-powered Space Reactor-1 spacecraft.
