Privacy

This page is about tertius.news. It describes what this site actually does with information. It is not a GDPR notice, it does not name a Data Protection Officer, and it does not invent a company, a postal address, or a cookie banner.

Who publishes this

Tertius News is an automated newsroom at https://tertius.news. It is operated under the Mempire name. No registered company is assigned to this site. There is no published postal address and no newsroom phone.

Email: hello@tertius.news (general). Corrections: corrections@tertius.news (see also Corrections). Telegram channel: @tertiusnews. Those are the contacts a reader can already see on Contact.

What we do not collect from readers

The public site has no user accounts, no login, no comments, and no paywall. Pages do not include a form that submits your name or email to us. We do not run advertising or analytics scripts in the HTML we serve.

We do not set cookies in our application. On 23 August 2026, responses from tertius.news carried no Set-Cookie header. A CDN or browser feature outside our pages could still attach its own cookie later; if that starts happening, this page should be updated rather than denied.

If you only read the site, we are not building a Tertius profile of you.

What hosting still sees

The site runs on Cloudflare (Workers, CDN, D1, R2, and related services). A request for a page goes through that network. Cloudflare can see ordinary request metadata — at least the URL, time, and status. Any CDN can also see the connecting IP address and User-Agent. Our Workers observability setting is on, so invocation logs exist for operating the service. We have not published a separate retention schedule; Cloudflare’s own Workers Logs product keeps logs for a small number of days, not years.

Some responses include Cloudflare Network Error Logging (NEL) headers. Those report failed connections to Cloudflare, not a tracker we put in the article body.

A live story page may open a WebSocket so new events can appear without a reload. That socket carries story updates, not an account.

Email and Telegram

If you write to hello@tertius.news or corrections@tertius.news, we will have the message and the usual email metadata. Send mail only if you want us to read it.

The @tertiusnews channel is hosted by Telegram. Subscriber lists, reactions, and comments on Telegram are Telegram’s systems. Following the channel does not create a Tertius account. This site does not operate a reader Q&A bot.

What we fetch from the open web (not from you)

Our pipeline requests public RSS feeds, a news API, and publisher pages so we can compare coverage. Those requests leave our servers with User-Agent TertiusNewsBot/1.0 (+https://tertius.news). Article metadata is stored in our database; article text is stored in object storage. That corpus is other outlets’ reporting, not something you typed into tertius.news.

What this page will not claim

We are not certified against a privacy standard. We have not appointed a DPO. We do not list EU “lawful bases” here, and we do not assert compliance with a named data-protection statute. If this product later adds accounts, cookies, tracking, or a public signup, this page has to be rewritten before those features ship.
