Envoys Land in Moscow
A private jet carrying President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner touched down in Moscow on Saturday, according to Russian aviation sources cited by Interfax. Russian media reported that a business jet that may be carrying the two envoys arrived in the Russian capital, with a source telling Russian media, "The plane landed at Vnukovo Airport."
According to the Russian Telegram channel SHOT, the aircraft, identified as a government Boeing C-32A, departed Miami the previous day, flew through Helsinki toward St. Petersburg, and touched down in Moscow around noon. Motorcade vehicles were spotted arriving at the airport to meet the delegation before they travel onward to Kyiv.
The arrival follows an announcement by President Trump on Friday that the delegation was traveling overseas in a renewed push to broker an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. Trump confirmed the report of Witkoff and Kushner's visit to Russia and Ukraine with the motive of forging a peace deal between the two warring parties.
Trump's Peace Proposal
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump said the U.S. had "a fresh concrete proposal" aimed at ending the war, which has been ongoing for four and a half years. However, he did not disclose the details of the proposal. "We have an idea for peace," Trump said.
Earlier, it was not confirmed whether Kushner and Witkoff would be traveling to Ukraine, Russia, or both nations.
