Iran used brief US truce to build $6 billion oil buffer - report

During a month-long suspension of the US blockade, Iran exported roughly 70 million barrels of oil worth $5-6 billion, according to estimates cited by The Wall Street Journal and advocacy group United Against Nuclear Iran. The exports, which included about 20 tankers that arrived off Malaysia's coast, were destined for China. The temporary agreement, signed June 17, was terminated by the US Treasury on July 7, and the blockade was restored on July 14.
