Jay-Z returns to London for two headline shows

Jay-Z is set to perform two headline shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5, marking his first solo appearance in the UK in over a decade, as reported by the Evening Standard and My London.

The concerts are part of the JAY-Z30 tour, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of his debut albumReasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of his sixth album,The Blueprint The London dates are the only UK stop on the tour, following a three-night run at New York's Yankee Stadium, which the Evening Standard described as record-breaking.

Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, last performed solo in the UK in October 2013 on the Magna Carter World Tour. He last appeared in the country in 2018, when he joined his wife Beyoncé for the On The Run II Tour. His upcoming London performances coincide with Beyoncé's birthday on Friday, September 4, leading to speculation she might join him on stage.

Concert details and timings

Doors for general admission open at 5pm on both dates, with stage times confirmed by official Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium channels closer to the shows, according to My London. No support act has been announced for either show.

While the London setlist has not been confirmed, My London noted that at a recent Philadelphia show Jay-Z performed songs including 'Empire State of Mind' and 'N----s in Paris', citing fan site fm.

Recent US gigs have featured guest appearances from artists including Rihanna, Eminem, Nas, Usher, Pharrell, Teyana Taylor, and Alicia Keys, My London reported. The Evening Standard added that Rihanna is expected to join him in London, according to The Sun, and that Beyoncé could also appear.

Tickets and merchandise

The Friday show is sold out, but tickets remain available for Saturday's performance, the Evening Standard reported. Tickets can be purchased through Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Ticketmaster. Resale websites such as StubHub and Viagogo are listed, but the Evening Standard noted that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase, meaning tickets could become void.

My London said general sale began in July and tickets were still available on Ticketmaster, mostly seated. The site also listed viagogo, Vivid Seats, and StubHub as resale options.

A limited-edition merchandise pop-up will run at UMusic on Chalk Farm Road in Camden Market from 11am to 7pm until Wednesday, September 2, My London reported. Between 5pm and 7pm, the shop transforms into a live venue with DJs such as DJ Target and DJ Manny. The Evening Standard added that merchandise will also be sold at the stadium and at an immersive installation in Trafalgar Square from September 1-5.

Four stations are close to the stadium, according to the Evening Standard: White Hart Lane (seven-minute walk), Northumberland Park (ten minutes), Tottenham Hale (30 minutes), and Seven Sisters (31 minutes). Local bus routes such as the 149, 259, 279, and 349 serve the area, though road closures may occur on major event days. Driving is strongly discouraged, as roads surrounding the stadium are generally closed before, during, and immediately after an event.

Attendees should expect mostly dry conditions with highs of 25°C, though a light shower is possible, the Evening Standard said.

The stadium's bag policy permits only bags smaller than A4 (21cm x 30cm), with no liquids, gels, or lotions allowed, My London reported. Banned items include bottles, food, umbrellas, flares, selfie sticks, and GoPros.
