Tottenham's Iliman Ndiaye deal faces late competition from Arsenal and Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Everton to sign Senegalese winger Iliman Ndiaye for around £60 million, according to The Times' Paul Joyce, as reported by TEAMtalk. Personal terms with the 26-year-old have also been finalised, but the deal is not yet complete.
The transfer depends on Richarlison agreeing to move to Everton, with a club-to-club agreement for the Brazilian's move already in place. However, Richarlison has other options, and Everton are also attempting to sign Folarin Balogun, which could affect his decision.
This delay has left Tottenham vulnerable to competition. Arsenal have reportedly made an inquiry about Ndiaye's situation, according to Senegalese outlet Taggat, which wrote on X that the Gunners could try to convince the player despite the agreement with Tottenham. Senegalese journalist Khadim Diakhate also stated that Arsenal is preparing a big move and working behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, Manchester City could also enter the race, according to The Sun. City have seen an £80 million bid for Cody Gakpo rejected by Liverpool, and could now turn to Ndiaye. They have the option to offer Jack Grealish in return, which could be tempting for Everton, as Grealish played 20 Premier League games on loan at Everton last season.
Ndiaye's representatives are believed to have held talks with City, Chelsea, and Arsenal, according to The Sun. The player has scored 15 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League and is under contract with Everton until 2029, but his desire to play Champions League football means Everton are open to selling.
The transfer window closes on Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm, so Ndiaye will have to make a decision soon. Liverpool, meanwhile, have confirmed the signing of Bradley Barcola for £106 million plus £17 million in add-ons, a deal that is seen as separate from Gakpo's situation. According to Ben Jacobs, Liverpool will not make further first-team signings unless a connected exit occurs.
