Fatal Train Incident in Fenton

A 56-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a train in Fenton, Michigan, on Friday night, according to police. The victim has been identified as Cynthia Susanne Prince of Linden, Michigan.

Officers responded to the railroad tracks near the Poplar Street crossing around 9:35 p.m., as reported by both CBS News and M Live Michigan. Upon arrival, they located Prince and began lifesaving measures. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

M Live Michigan reported that the train involved was a westbound Canadian National train and that police were told a pedestrian had been struck.

Investigation Ongoing

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, according to both outlets. Police have asked anyone with information to contact Detective Bemus at 810-629-5311.

Multiple agencies assisted the Fenton Police Department at the scene, including the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, Flint Township Police Department, and Fenton Fire Department, as reported by CBS News. Fenton is located approximately 19 miles south of Flint, Michigan.
