A Morning Ritual of Memes and Laughter
For most families, the morning begins with tea and newspapers. For Rivva Kishan and her father, actor-politician Ravi Kishan, it starts with memes. In a recent interview, Rivva revealed that the father-daughter duo share and laugh at meme reels featuring Ravi every morning, a habit that has become a cherished part of their routine. “We only laugh while watching these memes. We keep sharing those meme reels with each other and keep laughing. Every morning, we end up talking about the memes,” she said.
The memes, which have turned Ravi into a favourite subject for internet creators, are not a source of embarrassment but of pride. “I love it. I am proud. We cherish it, celebrate it, and we laugh,” Rivva said, speaking on a podcast with Filmygyan. She noted that the family actively follows the memes and even sends them to one another, finding joy in the creativity behind each creation.
Navigating Nepotism and Proving Her Mettle
Rivva’s light-hearted comments about her father’s internet fame come alongside a more serious discussion about her own journey in Bollywood. As the daughter of a prominent actor and politician, she admitted that her lineage often leads to preconceived notions she must counter. “I am my father’s daughter. People know that they can approach, but you have to prove yourself. It takes a lot to prove yourself,” she said.
Her debut film, Sab Kushal Mangal (2020), did not perform as well as expected. Reflecting on it, Rivva acknowledged she wasn’t as prepared then as she is today. “No one is born with skills, you learn, explore, and then you figure it out. I am headed in the right direction now; I am still very proud of that film,” she said. Despite the film’s underperformance, she stands by it, viewing it as a stepping stone in her growth as a performer.
Father’s Advice and a Star Kid’s Pressure
Away from the spotlight, Rivva finds guidance in her father’s words. “He always tells me to be real, not trying to be something that I am not. Don’t look at the world and do what people are doing. You have your own journey, hard work, skills, and experience that you take forward with yourself,” she shared. This advice, she says, keeps her grounded and confident.
However, she acknowledges the invisible weight that comes with being a star kid. “There is a certain kind of pressure that you can’t see, but people are seeing you holding that pressure. There is a responsibility as a daughter. He has had a very strong impact with his personality and performances. People love him all over the world,” she added.
A Personal Note on Relationships
On a personal note, Rivva revealed she is not dating anyone at the moment, and when she does decide to settle down, she would seek her father’s approval. “I am not in the...” she began, before trailing off, indicating the importance she places on her family’s blessing.
