Vicky Pattison is set to take on a gruelling 250-mile (400km) journey from her home city of Newcastle to London, running, cycling, and kayaking across land and water to raise money for Global's Make Some Noise charity. The 'Tyne to Thames' challenge begins on Monday, October 5, and will see the presenter and reality TV star travel through York, Sheffield, Nottingham, and Leicester before arriving at the Heart studios in Leicester Square on Friday, October 9.

Pattison, who presents Heart on Saturday afternoons and is a former Geordie Shore star and I'm a Celebrity winner, described the challenge as the opposite of her usual idea of a good time. "Anyone who knows me knows I'm at my happiest on the sofa, in my comfies, with my dogs, so this is quite literally the opposite of my usual idea of a good time!" she said in a statement.

She acknowledged the difficulty ahead: "I'm under no illusion that this is going to be tough and there will absolutely be moments where I'm wondering why I've done this to myself. But that's the whole point." Pattison, 38, added that the charity supports "incredible projects, led by small, local charities doing life-changing work," and that she would consider every ache, mile, and paddle worthwhile if she could raise money and push herself out of her comfort zone.

On social media, Pattison told her Instagram followers that she had "absolutely OUT DONE" herself with this challenge, adding: "So, am I excited? Yes. Am I also terrified? Yes. Am I going to do it anyway? Absolutely. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it!"

Global's Make Some Noise funds projects delivered by small charities tackling issues such as mental health, disability, poverty, and homelessness. Suzanne Ryder Richardson, CEO of Global's Make Some Noise, thanked Pattison for taking on the challenge, saying, "'Tyne to Thames' is a huge undertaking, and it speaks so much to Vicky's determination that she is willing to push herself so far out of her comfort zone to help others." Richardson also praised Pattison's ability to connect with people through her honesty and humour.

The charity has not yet specified a fundraising target, but Pattison's challenge is expected to draw support from fans and listeners. The Heart website provides information on how to donate and follow the challenge as it unfolds.
