Family Vacation and the Wax Statue Visit

Varun Dhawan recently took his wife, fashion designer Natasha Dalal, and their daughter Lara on a family vacation to Singapore. As part of the trip, the actor visited Madame Tussauds Singapore, where he showed his daughter his wax statue. He shared a series of photographs from the outing on Instagram on September 1.

In the pictures, Varun is seen posing beside his wax figure, which was dressed in a denim jacket and showcased his abs, while Natasha held Lara in her arms. The actor kept his daughter's face hidden in the photos, using heart emojis to conceal her identity, a practice the couple has followed since welcoming Lara in June 2024.

The statue itself recreates Varun's hook step from the song "Palat Tera Hero Idhar Hai" in his film "Main Tera Hero." Varun also shared a picture with filmmaker Karan Johar's wax statue, reflecting his close bond with the director who launched him in Bollywood with "Student of the Year" in 2012.

Captioning the post, Varun wrote, "Core memory unlocked. Showed my wife and daughter my statue. Thank u Madame Tussauds Singapore 🇸🇬 for the hospitality." The post also included glimpses of the family's beach day with Lara, a visit to Universal Studios, and some of the food they enjoyed during the trip. The actor made sure to maintain his fitness routine while on vacation, sharing a glimpse of his workout session.

The final photograph in the carousel showed Lara's tiny hand wrapped around Varun's finger, offering a candid moment of the father-daughter bond. Designer Masaba Gupta reacted to the post with a comment, "But Lara needs her own statue cos she's our Queen."

Background on the Dhawan Family

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal married on January 24, 2021, in an intimate ceremony at The Mansion House resort in Alibaug, near Mumbai, in the presence of close family and friends. The couple, who have known each other since their school days, welcomed their first child, Lara, on June 3, 2024.

In March, Varun revealed during an appearance on "Be A Man, Yaar" that Lara had been diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), a condition affecting hip joint development. He shared that early identification of the condition had supported her recovery. The couple has largely kept their daughter away from the public eye, consistently concealing her face in social media pictures.

Professional Updates

Varun Dhawan was most recently seen in "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai," directed by his father David Dhawan, which also starred Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. According to The Times of India, the film marked David Dhawan's final directorial project after he announced his retirement.

Varun is next expected to feature in the sequel to "Bhediya," though production has yet to begin. The Times of India also reported that the actor is reportedly set to headline a horror film backed by Aditya Chopra's production house, to be directed by Abhay Pannu with an expected 2027 release. The film has not been officially confirmed.
