A drone attack on a passenger bus in a Russian-controlled area of eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region killed seven people and wounded 11 others, according to Denis Pushilin, the Kremlin-installed head of the region. The attacks came after Ukraine's air force said Moscow had launched 656 drones and 54 missiles overnight into Tuesday. Moscow said its attacks were in response to a deadly strike on a dormitory in Russian-controlled Luhansk. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said another Russian attack may be imminent.

The Russian city of St Petersburg is hosting the annual International Economic Forum this week, an event organisers said would draw delegations from more than 130 countries, including Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng and the presidents of Uzbekistan and Tanzania.
