Release Confirmed Amid Rumors
The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, is set to release in theatres on September 25, 2026, as confirmed by the film's writer Arunabh Kumar. In a social media post, Kumar addressed recent speculation, denying reports of creative differences with producer Ektaa Kapoor and Balaji Motion Pictures, and promising to share an asset of the film soon.
Kumar's clarification comes after a report suggested that the film underwent significant re-shoots and re-edits, with the original direction team replaced. The report claimed that the makers were not ready with the final edit and that around 17 days of re-shoot were required, with Niraj Kothari and Sahir Raza overseeing the edit under Ektaa Kapoor's direction. While Kumar did not directly address these specifics in his post, his confirmation of the release date serves as a rebuttal to any notions of postponement.
The Film's Origins
In his social media post, shared on World Folklore Day, Kumar recounted the inception of The Vvaan, attributing it to a shared love for stories and temples with Ektaa Kapoor. He wrote, "It all started with our mutual love for stories and temples...from visiting Sidhivinayak on Jan 1st, to Mukteshwar on Mahashivratri, to Mahakumbh & what not.. and we realised how rich our Indian culture is with so many incredible Folklores which are as much history as mythology."
Kumar detailed how he shared the folklore of Vandevi Temple in Bihta with Kapoor, who immediately felt the story needed to be told on the big screen. "She went all out in giving it as big a canvas as possible," he added, praising Kapoor and Balaji Motion Pictures as ideal partners for such a story.
Teaser and Posters Unveiled
The film's teaser was released, offering a glimpse into its fantasy world. According to Bollywood Hungama, the teaser features Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia and showcases a forbidden forest governed by the rule: "Suryast ke baad, Vvaan mein pravesh karna varjit hai." The film is described as a fantasy folklore spectacle rooted in mystery, ancient beliefs, and the supernatural, combining adventure, mystery, and humour to appeal as a complete family entertainer.
Prior to the teaser, two new posters of The Vvaan were unveiled, as reported by Bollywood Hungama. The posters depict Malhotra in two distinct avatars: one entering the mysterious world of Vvaan and the other as a warrior. The imagery has sparked speculation about whether he plays two characters or if the avatars are connected to the film's folklore narrative. The identity and role of the warrior remain unclear.

The Vvaan is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production. Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, the film has Manu Anand as director of photography and Visual Director. It is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar, and Niraj Kothari.
The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between Malhotra and Bhatia, and is set in an original world with its own characters, symbols, and mythology. The Legend of Vvaan comic book has also been introduced to audiences, expanding the film's universe.
