Two men in their 20s were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, as confirmed by Devon and Cornwall Police. Devon and Cornwall Police issued a warning to the public about sharing "speculative" and "prejudicial" information online, as detailed in a Cornwall Live report. In a statement, the force said it was aware of rumours and speculation circulating on social media that "may compromise and prejudice our investigation." The statement added: "This is a live and active police investigation, and we ask that the public do not share speculative information online as it may compromise and prejudice our investigation. The warning came after a day of significant public interest in the incident, with emergency services and police activity visible in the city centre. The police emphasised the importance of reporting information directly to them rather than posting it on social media platforms.
