Tottenham target Roland Sallai
Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Galatasaray's versatile full-back Roland Sallai, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik, as reported by Yardbarker. The North London club have made an approach for the 29-year-old and asked for the conditions of a potential transfer, with Galatasaray reportedly open to selling for the right price.
Sallai, a Hungarian international, has made a strong start to the new season, scoring in the 12th minute of Galatasaray's 4-0 win over Erzurumspor F.K. at the weekend. Last season, he registered seven goal contributions in 47 appearances across all competitions, having moved to Turkey from Freiburg in 2024.
The Turkish giants are reportedly expecting around €20m for Sallai's transfer. Tottenham are not the only club linked with the player—Nottingham Forest, Sunderland, Fulham, Liverpool, and Hull City have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Defensive needs at Spurs
The interest in Sallai comes as Tottenham look to bolster their defensive options. The club sold Djed Spence to Inter Milan earlier this month, leaving Pedro Porro as the only recognized right-back in the squad. With Porro not deemed fit to play against Brentford on the opening weekend, Archie Gray started in that position and endured a difficult afternoon, underlining the need for a specialist full-back.
The club have endured an underwhelming start to the new season, losing 3-0 to Brentford, and manager Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly keen to strengthen the squad before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Savio signing confirmed
Meanwhile, Tottenham officially confirmed the signing of Savio from Manchester City on Tuesday via a statement on their website. The 22-year-old, who now wishes to be known as Savio rather than Savinho, has joined for a fee of £75m plus £10m in add-ons, with £5m of the add-ons considered easily achievable and the remaining £5m harder to trigger.
Savio said: "It's taken a while but I'm very happy to be here. It's a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world. As soon as I spoke to the Head Coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team."
Savio will wear the No. 17 shirt and is expected to line up on the right side of De Zerbi's attack.
Further attacking additions
Omar Marmoush is expected to be the next arrival, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the deal structure involves a loan containing a conditional obligation to buy worth £50m. The pair are set to become Tottenham's seventh and eighth signings of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool's Cody Gakpo is also wanted by Tottenham, with personal terms reportedly in place with the Dutchman. However, there is a growing sense from sources close to Anfield that Liverpool might not sanction Gakpo's sale.
Interest in Neco Williams
Tottenham are also exploring a move for Nottingham Forest's Neco Williams, as reported by the BBC and covered by TeamTalk. The 25-year-old can play right-back, left-back, or wing-back, and could be viewed as a natural successor to Djed Spence.
However, Nottingham Forest are determined to keep Williams, according to Sami Mokbel of the BBC. His current deal at Forest expires in summer 2029, and the club are in talks over an extension. Forest's interest in Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall could potentially be used as leverage in a deal, though that remains speculative.
