Sunny Deol resumes 'Antony' shoot

Sunny Deol has returned to work on his upcoming cop thriller 'Antony' after completing commitments to his latest release, 'Batwara 1947'. According to a Mid-Day report, the latest schedule for the film kicked off at Film City on August 26, with Deol shooting extensive action portions. Directed by Balaji Ganesh, the film features Deol as a police officer investigating a crime syndicate. Action director Ravi Verma is helming the action sequences. The report notes, "The unit is currently focusing on the high-octane action sequences of the film that sees Sunny as a cop trying to bust a crime syndicate. With action director Ravi Verma, the actor has been shooting car chase sequences." Deol is expected to complete his portions for the film by October.

'Ramayana: Part 2' awaits after 'Antony'

Once 'Antony' wraps, Deol is set to shift focus to 'Ramayana: Part 2', where he plays Lord Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari's two-part mythological saga. While his role in the first part is brief, it is expected to expand significantly in the sequel. As per the report, "While Sunny, as Lord Hanuman, makes a brief appearance in the first part, he will have major action and dramatic sequences in the sequel." 'Ramayana: Part 1', starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, is scheduled for release this Diwali 2026. Ranbir Kapoor has already begun shooting his portions for the sequel.

'Jaat 2' and other projects

Deol also has 'Jaat 2' lined up, with makers reportedly eyeing a December start for filming. However, the schedule may hinge on director Gopichand Malineni's availability due to his other commitments. By early next year, Deol is expected to begin filming for Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega'. Other upcoming projects include 'Gabru' and 'Baap' with Sanjay Dutt, Shashank Udapurkar, and Mithun Chakraborty.
