Squid Game Actor Park Hae-soo and Wife Welcome Second Son

Park Hae-soo, the South Korean actor known globally for his role in Squid Game, has become a father for the second time. His agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed to Korean media on August 24 that Park Hae-soo and his wife welcomed their second son on August 23. "Park Hae-soo and his wife welcomed their second son yesterday (the 23rd). Both the mother and baby are in good health," the agency stated, adding that the actor is currently by his wife's side.

A Joyous Announcement

The birth comes less than a month after Park Hae-soo publicly shared the news of the pregnancy. On July 31, while accepting the Best Actor award at the fifth Blue Dragon Series Awards for his performance in Scarecrow, the actor surprised the audience by announcing the impending arrival. "My beloved wife is probably even more nervous than me right now, watching from home — I love her. Daddy won an award. I love you too, our second blessing," he told his wife during his speech.

His announcement that day became one of the ceremony's memorable moments. At 45, Park Hae-soo is now a father of two sons, with his first son having been born in 2021. The couple, who married in June 2019, has kept their private life largely away from the public eye, with Park's wife being a non-celebrity.

A Rising Career

Park Hae-soo's career has seen significant growth since his appearance in the hit Netflix series Squid Game, while his work in Korean television, film, and theatre has established him as one of the country's internationally recognized actors.
