Snoop Dogg's ice cream company Dr. Bombay is hiring an international taste tester for $10,000 a month, according to USA Today. The three-month, fully remote role is open to applicants globally, with the successful candidate set to earn US$10,000 a month to taste the brand's ice cream and provide insights on flavours, trends and new ideas, as reported by Entrepreneur and Marketing Interactive.

Snoop Dogg announced the search last week, saying Dr. Bombay wants to look beyond the S. for flavor inspiration as the brand scales, according to Entrepreneur. He launched the company with his son, Cordell Broadus, back in 2023, and it's partnering with the hiring platform Deel to track down someone who can sample frozen treats, spot trends early and help shape what Dr. Bombay makes next.

The role connects to Snoop's family history. Dr. Bombay traces its roots back to Snoop's father, Vernell Varnado, who grew up on a dairy farm in Mississippi. "Today, we are going global, baby. And we need you to help us find new flavors," Varnado said in a promo video announcing the search, as quoted by Entrepreneur.

Applications for the role opened on 28 August and will run for three weeks, with Deel supporting the brand's global hiring efforts and supplying a pool of candidates, according to Marketing Interactive. Some travel will also be required during the three-month stint. Rather than looking for culinary credentials, Dr. Bombay is seeking someone with curiosity, strong social instincts and an outgoing personality. Applicants are expected to have a strong understanding of food and flavour trends, as well as an eye for emerging cultural trends before they reach the mainstream, as stated by Marketing Interactive.

Applicants apply directly through Deel's website, where they'll answer questions about their ice cream habits, including how much they eat per week, and pitch a food combo they're currently obsessed with, according to Entrepreneur. An interest in food culture, content creation or brand-building is also considered a plus, with the brand looking for candidates who can bring their own voice and enthusiasm to the role, as reported by Marketing Interactive.

Snoop Dogg's team will be directly involved in reviewing shortlisted candidates, while the rapper and Dr. Bombay co-founder will personally call the successful applicant to tell them they have landed the job, according to Marketing Interactive. Once selected, the taste tester will work alongside the Dr. Bombay team as it develops the brand, with regular check-ins throughout the three-month contract. Deel and Dr. Bombay also plan to develop content around the successful candidate and their experience in the role.

The partnership is initially set to run for three months, although the companies said there could be opportunities for the successful candidate to work with Dr. Bombay's marketing team in the future, as reported by Marketing Interactive.

"At Dr. Bombay, we craft ice cream flavours everyone loves - everyone around the world, meaning we need someone on staff who can serve as our global tastemaker," said Maya Warren, ice cream scientist for Dr. Bombay, in a statement quoted by Marketing Interactive. She added, "I'll take care of the science behind the scenes; you just need to bring curiosity, refined taste buds, and an appetite to have an impact on the future of Dr. Bombay."

The move follows other brands turning fan passions into headline-grabbing paid roles, using dream jobs as a way to build engagement around products and cultural moments. In May, FOX Sports, FOX One and Indeed turned football fandom into a paid gig with a nationwide search for a "FOX One chief World Cup watcher hired through Indeed" ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, as reported by Marketing Interactive. The role offered a US$50,000 salary for one fan to watch all 104 matches live across 39 days from a custom-built viewing office in New York City's Times Square. Designed as a public-facing "dream watch space", the activation sought to turn solo football viewing into a continuous World Cup watch party in the heart of the city.
