Eastern Economic Forum 2026 to Feature 380 Deals Worth 6.5 Trillion Rubles

Russia’s Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) is set to take place September 1-4 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University, with organizers planning the signing of 380 agreements worth 6.5 trillion rubles (approximately $79.9 billion), according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.

Speaking at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, Trutnev said, “For 2026, we have set a goal of signing a larger number of agreements of 380 worth 6.5 trillion rubles.” He noted that last year the forum helped attract 6.1 trillion rubles in investment, indicating a year-on-year increase in the value of expected deals.

The main theme of this year’s EEF is “The Far East: Development for the Benefit of People.” The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian government, and TASS serves as the general information partner.

Business Program and Thematic Blocks

The forum’s business program will include more than 70 sessions, organized into five thematic blocks, according to a statement from Trutnev’s press service. The blocks are:

Trutnev emphasized that the forum remains a key platform for developing breakthrough solutions. “The Eastern Economic Forum, held at the behest of the head of state, has become one of the most effective tools for the development of the Far East. Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee, said the program traditionally aims to bring together representatives of government, business, and the expert community to develop cutting-edge solutions across all sectors. “This year, it reflects such important areas as achieving technological sovereignty, developing international cooperation, creating a sustainable economic space, and other topics,” Kobyakov stated. “I am confident that the work at the EEF will result in the development of relevant solutions that will be part of Russia's long-term development strategy and ensure leadership in all key areas.”

Focus on Regional Development

The “Living and Working in the Far East” block will focus on the implementation of master plans for 25 Far Eastern cities, rental housing construction, and other social and economic initiatives, as outlined in the program description. The block is designed to address issues related to improving quality of life and attracting human capital to the region.
