First North Shore location

Scoop N Scootery, the Boston-based ice cream chain known for its massive, decadent custom and signature sundaes, is expanding to the North Shore. The company announced in an Instagram post that it will open a new location in Danvers this September, its first in the area.

According to the post, the expansion comes after persistent requests from fans. "Danvers… you were NOT about to let us forget. After more comments, DMs, pleas and increasingly dramatic messages than we could possibly fit into two slides, we can finally give you the answer you've been waiting for," the company wrote. "Save the date, send this to the person you've been waiting with and get ready, North Shore. It's finally happening."

The new store is set to open on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 44 Maple St. in Danvers. Once open, it will operate from 3 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Saturday and from 3 to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The delivery radius will be about 40 minutes from the store, matching other Scoop N Scootery locations.

Scoop N Scootery already runs three other locations around Boston, which deliver sundaes late into the night. The expansion to Danvers marks the chain's entry into the North Shore market.
