Sarvam launches Champions programme to expand builder community
Indian AI startup Sarvam has launched Sarvam Champions, a new programme designed to expand its community of builders and increase engagement with its tools. The initiative, announced via a post on X, comprises two tracks: creators and city leads, according to India Today.
Participants selected for the programme will receive early access to Sarvam's latest AI models, opportunities to interact with the company's key teams, and membership in a Champions community where builders can meet and exchange ideas, as reported by Business Today, India Today, and Times Now.
The launch comes about a month after Sarvam's Epoch 2026 conference, where the company introduced new models including Vision 2.0 and Bulbul V4 and revealed plans for a flagship model with more than a trillion parameters, according to India Today and Times Now.
What participants will do
Sarvam Champions is divided into two tracks. The creators track is for individuals already building projects with Sarvam's tools and sharing their work. Their responsibilities include creating hands-on guides such as tutorials, cookbooks, live-coding sessions and build-alongs, showcasing real projects made with Sarvam, and providing feedback to help improve the company's products, as detailed by all three outlets.
The city leads track is for people who already run local developer or technology communities. City leads are expected to organise events such as meet-ups and workshops where participants can learn to use Sarvam's tools, according to Business Today, India Today, and Times Now.
Sarvam has said it will fund approved events, provide playbooks, content and support to help run them, and support efforts to grow the community. City leads are expected to organise one Sarvam-focused event every month. The funding covers expenses such as catering, venue fees, standees and banners, but does not include prize money, as reported by all three outlets.
Application and selection process
The selection process for Sarvam Champions has four steps, according to Business Today and India Today. Applicants can apply themselves or be nominated by someone else through the Sarvam website.
For the creators track, applicants need to submit examples of technical content or a real build they have created using Sarvam's tools. City lead applicants should provide details of an event or community they run, along with their qualifications, experience and social media links, as described by Business Today, India Today, and Times Now.
Background and funding
Sarvam is currently raising funds as part of a Series B funding round, with IndiGo Ventures among the latest investors, according to India Today. The startup already has backing from companies including HCLTech and Nvidia, the outlet reported. India Today also described Sarvam as India's first AI unicorn, valued at $1.5 billion.
