Roster Moves Announced
The Texas Rangers placed right-handed relievers Cole Winn and Peyton Gray on the 15-day injured list Monday before hosting the Athletics at Globe Life Field, as reported by the Associated Press. Winn, who has a rotator cuff strain, was placed on the injured list retroactive to last Friday, per the Associated Press. In his most recent outing, last Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox, he allowed two runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings, the Associated Press reported. This marks the second time this season Winn, a former first-round pick, has been placed on the injured list, according to Sports Illustrated.
Gray, a 31-year-old rookie, has been placed on the injured list with elbow inflammation, retroactive to Sunday, the Associated Press reported. He has pitched in 48 games this season, posting a 3.93 ERA with 58 strikeouts and 16 walks in ribution 55 innings, per Sports Illustrated. Gray last pitched on Saturday in Milwaukee, giving up three hits and an earned run in one inning, according toboth reports; Sports Illustrated added that on Sunday, Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said the team was monitoring Gray after he reported right arm soreness after the game.

To fill the vacancies, the Rangers recalled left-handed reliever Robby Ahlstrom and right-handed reliever Ben Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock, as reported by both the Associated Press and Sports Illustrated. Ahlstrom, a rookie, was optioned back to Round Rock last week to make room for Adam Macko, per Sports Illustrated.
