Myles Garrett Gives Scouting Report on Woman’s Viral Airport Tackle
A heartwarming homecoming moment turned into a viral sensation this week, and it even earned a nod from one of the NFL’s premier defenders.
A video circulating online shows a sister missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints running through the security exit at Salt Lake International Airport and tackling an awaiting loved one, sending them both to the ground. The two women laughed and smiled as they stood up and hugged after the playful tackle.
The clip caught the attention of the popular Instagram account House of Highlights, which shared the video with the caption: “Got off her flight like Myles Garrett.”
The post reached the man himself. Myles Garrett, the defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams and a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, commented with his own breakdown of the tackle: “Near foot, near shoulder. Kept the legs driving. Excellent.”
Garrett’s reaction comes as he embarks on a new chapter with the Rams. He spent the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns before being traded to Los Angeles in June. Garrett requested a trade in February 2025, writing in a statement that his goal “has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.”
Last season, Garrett set the NFL single-season sack record with 23 sacks, surpassing the previous mark of 22.5 set by Hall of Famer Michael Strahan in 2001 and tied by T.J. Watt in 2021. He was named the 2025 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year and is a five-time first-team All-Pro honoree.
The Rams played their final preseason game Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Garrett won’t be active for Los Angeles’ preseason game against the Saints on Saturday, as the team is likely preserving its stars for the regular season.
As for the woman in the video, her tackle may not earn her an NFL roster spot, but it has certainly earned her a moment of internet fame—and a shoutout from one of the game’s best.
