Russia is “actively introducing” mobile fire groups armed primarily with interceptor FPV drones, Belousov stated. Since April, the country has been establishing a unified information environment to raise situational awareness of UAV attacks, he explained, adding that a radar does not exist if it is not seen in the unified system. Software is being introduced starting from the tactical level, enabling the detection of objectives, oversight of the entire situation, and command and control of battle.

Belousov mentioned that a large number of tablet devices have been given to crews, crew commanders, and combat vehicles, all linked into a single system.

On the use of artificial intelligence, Belousov reported that Russia is actively introducing AI systems in its air defenses and that results will be seen by November. He noted that AI is used in drones to identify images, automatically lock on targets, and provide navigation. He added that unmanned systems forces use drones about three times more effectively than ordinary crews.

He also mentioned that funding for maintenance units, or laboratories, in the special military operation area has been increased twice lately.
