New Envoys Take Up Posts

Petra Menander assumed her duties as Ambassador of Sweden to India in August 2026 upon presenting her credentials, succeeding Jan Thesleff, who served as Sweden's envoy to India from 2022 to 2026.

Muhammad Saidu Dahiru took up his posting at the High Commission in New Delhi in mid-2026 before presenting credentials in August 2026. He succeeded Ahmed Sule, who served as Nigeria's High Commissioner to India until 2024.

Abdulla Saif Ali Slayem Al Nuaimi assumed charge as UAE Ambassador after presenting copies of his credentials to India's Ministry of External Affairs in July 2026, succeeding Abdulnasser Alshaali, who served from 2022 to 2026. UAE Envoy Reaffirms Commitment

The Free Press Journal focused on the UAE ambassador's remarks, reporting that after presenting his credentials, Abdulla Saif Alnuaimi reaffirmed his strong commitment to strengthening the bilateral partnership between the UAE and India. The UAE Embassy in India posted on X that during the ceremony, Ambassador Alnuaimi conveyed warm greetings from Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to President Murmu. According to the embassy, the newly accredited envoy reaffirmed his strong commitment to further enhancing and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates during his tenure.
