As Europe grapples with the health consequences of a warming planet, a new report from the Lancet Countdown Europe has found that the pollen season in the UK and mainland Europe has extended by one to two weeks since the 1990s. The same report, compiled by 65 researchers from 46 academic and United Nations institutions, also documents a significant rise in heat-related deaths across the continent, along with an increased risk of mosquito-borne diseases and food insecurity.
