Police have launched an international manhunt for a 45-year-old man after his wife and two daughters were found dead at their home in Bedfordshire. The suspect, identified as Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, also known as Mark, is believed to have fled the UK and is now thought to be in Zimbabwe.

Bedfordshire Police said officers were called to a home in Great Denham, near Bedford, on Monday over concerns for the welfare of a woman and her two children who had not been seen for several days. When officers forced entry, they discovered the bodies of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, known as Zandile, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, five. The force said it believes the three were murdered.

Coverage Comparison

Reports of the incident agree on the core facts: a murder investigation is under way, the suspect was known to the victims, and he has left the country. The suspect, described as a British citizen of Zimbabwean heritage, is believed to have departed from Heathrow Airport on a British passport on Saturday.

The Guardian reported that the suspect is believed to be in Zimbabwe, which is not among the UK's extradition treaty partners. AllAfrica also reported the international dimension, noting that Zimbabwean police said they had not yet received a formal Interpol notice but were monitoring the case. The same outlet reported that British police have appealed for the suspect to surrender.

Tributes have been paid to the victims, described by relatives as a "much-loved" family whose deaths constitute an "unimaginable loss." A statement released on behalf of the family by Bedfordshire Police expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who have offered prayers and support. Nala's headteacher, Jo Webster, described the five-year-old as a "much-loved member of our school community" who "brought joy to those around her every day."
