Banana Ball Comes to Gillette Stadium for the First Time
The Savannah Bananas are bringing their Banana Ball spectacle to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Aug. 28 and 29, marking the first time the event will be held at the venue. According to the Quincy Patriot Ledger and the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the team will face the Loco Beach Coconuts in two games as part of their 2026 World Tour, with both games beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The Bananas previously played at Fenway Park for the last two years and at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton in 2023, according to the same reports.
Schedule and Pre-Game Activities
Both days feature identical schedules. The Pre-Game Plaza opens at 2 p.m., with player appearances also at 2 p.m. Pre-show entertainment begins at 3 p.m., and gates open at 4:30 p.m. before the show starts at 6:30 p.m. The Pre Party LIVE celebration in the plaza begins at 2 p.m. and features players, cast members, mascots, and surprise guests. The plaza is a ticketed space, so fans must have game tickets to enter, as put by the Patriot Ledger and the Telegram & Gazette.
Tickets and Entry
Digital tickets become available for download to a mobile wallet 72 hours before the first pitch of each game. Both reports suggest downloading tickets in advance through the Fans First Tickets Management App. On game day, attendees can seek assistance at Ticket Help tents, which are positioned at each ticket scanning location outside the ballpark and in the plaza before gates open.
Parking and Transportation
Parking lots open at 1 p.m. on both days and close immediately after the event, according to both news sources. They suggest pre-paid parking permits for Gillette Stadium's lots. Access to the stadium's licensed ADA parking spaces is restricted to those with a valid state-issued ADA parking placard or license plate. For fans with mobility issues who do not have a placard or plate, the reports indicate they should use the P7 entrance from the south or the P1 entrance from the north. For those traveling by train, the MBTA Commuter Rail and Keolis will provide round-trip special event service from Boston on Aug. 28 and from both Boston and Providence on Aug. 29. Tickets are $20 round-trip and can be purchased via the mTicket app, according to the reports.
Venue Policies
Both the Patriot Ledger and the Telegram & Gazette note that Gillette Stadium is a cashless venue. Bag policies restrict attendees to one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (max 11x11 inches), clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags (max 12x12x6 inches), or small wristlets or handheld wallets (max 6.5x4.5 inches).
