Pahadishareef police have arrested an accused, identified as MD Sanaullah, a 34-year-old bike mechanic, in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a 21-year-old nurse in Rangareddy district. The arrest was reported by Deccan Chronicle and Republic World.

According to police, Sanaullah allegedly raped and murdered the nurse by attacking her with a hammer inside her room in Thukkuguda under Pahadishareef police station limits. Deccan Chronicle reported that the incident occurred on Sunday, while Republic World indicated the arrest came after an investigation into the death.

A police official told Republic World: "The accused involved in the rape and murder of the 21-year-old nurse has been arrested by our teams. We will give more details today at a press conference."

Victim and Investigation Details

The victim, a 21-year-old nurse at a private hospital in Thukkuguda, was found dead in her room. According to Shamshabad Police, the nurse was a native of Bhadradri Kothagudem district and had come to Hyderabad about seven months ago with a friend who also worked at the same hospital.

Republic World reported that on Saturday at around 2:30 pm, the victim's friend informed the complainant that she had not come out of her room since morning. Despite knocking on the door several times, she did not respond. Police said friends later entered the room through a window and found her lying dead with bleeding injuries on her face.

Deccan Chronicle reported that the nurse was found with bleeding injuries on her face in the room. The publication also detailed the alleged sequence of events: Sanaullah entered the victim's hostel room through a ventilator and assaulted her. When she resisted and raised an alarm, he allegedly smothered and strangled her. After the assault, he fled through the same ventilator.

Protest and Demands for Justice

Following the incident, the deceased's family and BJP leaders staged a protest demanding an encounter of the accused and justice for the family. This was reported by both Deccan Chronicle and Republic World.

BJP leader Andela Sriramulu Yadav, speaking to ANI as quoted by Republic World, alleged that the victim was attacked with a hammer and demanded strict action against the accused. Yadav said: "On the day of Raksha Bandhan, a girl was attacked. A person opened the windows of her room and attacked her with a hammer, sexually assaulted and murdered her. What is the local Inspector doing? We had earlier filed a complaint with Hyderabad CP V C Sajjanar."

Official Response

Police had initially suspected that the nurse was assaulted by unidentified persons and had begun an investigation, according to Republic World. A complaint was filed, following which police suspected that unidentified persons might have assaulted her with an unknown object and killed her. A police team reached the spot and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The arrest of Sanaullah marks a development in the case, with police indicating that further details would be provided at a press conference.
