Location Managers Guild International Honors Excellence in Filming Locations

The Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) presented its annual awards on Saturday night, recognizing outstanding work in the use of filming locations across motion pictures, television, commercials and film commissions. The ceremony, held at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, was hosted by comic and TV personality Fritz Coleman, as reported by Deadline.

The top film honors went to "One Battle After Another" and "Marty Supreme," according to both Deadline and Variety. "One Battle After Another" won Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Feature Film, while "Marty Supreme" took the award for Outstanding Locations in a Period Feature Film. The wins were attributed to the location professionals named by Deadline: Michael Glaser, Michael Wesley and Rich Heichel for "One Battle After Another," and Matthew Kania and Ross Brodar for "Marty Supreme."

Variety noted that "One Battle After Another" was shot across California's Humboldt County, Sacramento, Stockton, Eureka, Arcata, San Diego and El Paso, Texas. "Marty Supreme," meanwhile, was filmed across New York City, greater New York, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Tokyo.

Television and Commercial Winners

On the television side, the LMGI Awards recognized three series. "Pluribus" won Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Television Series, with the award going to Christian Diaz de Bedoya, John O'Connor, Priscila Calero, Jorge Noguerales, Yanira De Armas and Will Brewster, as listed by Deadline. Variety reported that "Pluribus" was filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Montana, Nevada and Spain.

"Fallout, Season 2" took the award for Outstanding Locations in a Period Television Series, recognizing Mandi Dillin and David Park. The series was shot in California's Dumont Dunes, Mojave Desert, Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita, per Variety.

"Black Rabbit" won Outstanding Locations in a TV Anthology, Movie or Limited Series, with the award going to Paul Eskenazi and Joel McGlumphy. Variety noted that the series was filmed around New York City, including Brooklyn and Manhattan.

In the commercial category, Toyota Trucks: 'They Don't Read Reviews' won Outstanding Locations in a Commercial, with the award going to Alexandra Gibson and Christina Conway, according to Deadline.

Special Honors and Awards

Beyond the competitive categories, the ceremony presented several special honors. Vince Gilligan, described by Variety as a four-time Emmy-winning director and writer, received the Eva Monley Award for his dedication to storytelling through location over his career and his most recent work on "Pluribus." Deadline reported that Gilligan is known for his work on "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul."

Mike Fantasia, location manager of films including "Top Gun: Maverick," "Killers of the Flower Moon" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming," was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, as reported by Variety.

Deadline also reported that the 2026 Trailblazer Award went to the Association of Film Commissioners International, and the Environmental Media Association was presented with the Humanitarian Award. Additionally, the Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission in Northern California was named Outstanding Film Commission/Office for its work on "One Battle After Another." Cassandra Hesseltine was recognized in that category, per Deadline.
