Contract Announcement

Gloucestershire County Cricket Club have announced that Ollie Price has signed a two-year contract extension. The 25-year-old has become a mainstay across all three formats, contributing with bat and ball while establishing himself as one of Gloucestershire's finest fielders.

Price, speaking to the club website, said: "I'm really excited about the next two years. I think any time you get the chance to sign a new deal at your home club, it's a really special one. I’m looking forward to hopefully two successful years here."

Player's Perspective

Reflecting on his development, Price noted how his game has evolved over the past five years. "I think my game's changed a lot in five years. I think you come into the team and professional cricket trying to prove to yourself that you can belong at that level. Since then, you try and grow into someone that the team can hopefully depend on to perform with both bat and ball, and that ambition doesn't change," he said.

He acknowledged the challenges of the current season, stating: "There's no hiding from the fact that this year has been really challenging." Looking ahead, Price identified his primary goal: "Fundamentally, the biggest ambition is to improve, particularly in the red-ball game."

He also expressed a collective aim for the team: "We really want to set some markers down as the team that we know we can be and that we want to be. That's probably something we're really passionate about over the next couple of years, and I know a lot of us are."

Price concluded with a personal aspiration: "Obviously, I'd love to be a player that contributes a lot, in all formats, towards the team's success. I don't have anything too specific, but that's probably my main ambition."

Director of Cricket's Comments

Gloucestershire's Director of Cricket, Jon Lewis, expressed the club's satisfaction with the new deal. "We're delighted to have secured Ollie's services for the next two seasons," he said. "He is a Gloucestershire player through and through, someone who cares deeply about the Club and takes immense pride in representing Gloucestershire."

Lewis highlighted Price's journey through the club's pathway: "Ollie has come through our pathway and developed into a key figure within the squad. He sets high standards every day, both through his performances and the example he sets."

Describing Price's influence, Lewis added: "He has become a real leader within the dressing room and is someone his teammates look up to. He is an incredibly talented cricketer who continues to improve across all aspects of his game."

Looking to the future, Lewis stated: "We firmly believe Ollie's best years are still ahead of him. His ambition matches the Club's ambition, and we're excited to see what he can achieve in Gloucestershire colours over the next two seasons."

He concluded: "We're all so proud to see someone who has progressed through the Academy continue his journey with Gloucestershire."
