Olivia Dean Announces Lollapalooza India 2027 Headline Slot

British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean has said she will headline Lollapalooza India 2027, ahead of the festival's official lineup announcement. According to reports, fans who had registered for updates from Dean received a message early on 1 September that read, "I'm headlining Lollapalooza 2027!!" The message reportedly included an artist-sale link and a code to buy tickets on BookMyShow.

Dean had earlier hinted at an India performance on 28 August, when she posted an Instagram story featuring a picture of herself on stage with the words "See you soon?" accompanied by an Indian flag emoji. The post directed followers to a registration page titled "Loving In India. Olivia Dean."

However, neither Lollapalooza India nor BookMyShow has confirmed Dean as a performer yet. The festival's website is still asking visitors to register for lineup updates.

Dean's India Debut and Recent Career Highlights

If confirmed, the show would mark Dean's first performance in India. She has previously performed at other editions of Lollapalooza and headlined the third day of Lollapalooza Chicago in August. During that set, Sam Fender joined her to perform their song "Rein Me In."

The 27-year-old British singer released her debut album,Messy, in 2023, which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and included tracks such as "Dive," "Carmen," and "The Hardest Part." Her second album,The Art of Loving, came out in September 2025, with "Man I Need" and "So Easy (To Fall in Love)" among its best-known songs.

The latter album earned Dean the 2026 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. She also won four 2026 BRIT Awards, the most by any artist that night, including Artist of the Year, Pop Act, and Album of the Year forThe Art of Loving Her collaboration with Fender, "Rein Me In," won Song of the Year.

Festival Details and Lineup Timeline

Lollapalooza India is scheduled to return to Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Race Course on 23 and 24 January 2027, according to the festival's official website, which lists four stages and more than 40 performances. The India edition debuted in Mumbai in 2023, with previous editions featuring international acts such as Imagine Dragons, Green Day, Shawn Mendes, and Linkin Park, alongside Indian artists including Divine, Prateek Kuhad, and Bloodywood.

There is as yet no official confirmation of the exact lineup announcement date. Reports suggest the lineup for the 2027 edition may be revealed as early as this week or extend into the second week of September, following last year's pattern when the announcement came on 29 August after the conclusion of pre-sale and general sales tickets. Pre-sale tickets this year may go live as late as 30 August.

Dean's announcement marks the first major revelation about the festival's lineup. Meanwhile, there is uncertainty about the participation of the group KATSEYE, owing to injuries and temporary breaks taken by some of its members.
