MongoDB Beats Expectations, Raises Full-Year Guidance on Atlas Strength
MongoDB, Inc. reported fiscal second-quarter 2027 financial results on Tuesday, posting revenue and profit that exceeded Wall Street expectations, driven by robust growth in its Atlas cloud database platform. The company also raised its full-year guidance, citing sustained momentum in its core business and emerging AI use cases.
For the quarter ended July 31, 2026, MongoDB reported net income of $40.9 million, or 50 cents per share, compared to a loss in the same period last year. On an adjusted basis, the company earned $1.90 per share, well above the $1.60 average estimate from 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research.
Total revenue for the quarter was $771.8 million, a 30% increase year-over-year and above the $733.6 million expected by nine Zacks-surveyed analysts. The results underscore the company's continued growth trajectory in a competitive database market.
Atlas and Enterprise Advanced Drive Growth
MongoDB's Atlas platform continued to be a significant growth driver, with revenue from the offering increasing approximately 29% year-over-year. The company also reported strong performance in its Enterprise Advanced and other revenue, which grew approximately 36% year-over-year.
"We delivered strong second quarter results, highlighted by 30% year-over-year revenue growth—the highest level of growth in several years—and continued strong profitability," said CJ Desai, President and CEO of MongoDB, in a statement. "This performance reflects the mission-critical role our platform plays for customers, with strength driven by core enterprise workloads and early momentum with AI use cases."
Desai added that the company's strength spans its "run anywhere" strategy across both Atlas and Enterprise Advanced, and expressed confidence in raising full-year fiscal 2027 guidance.
The company's non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 24%, up from 15% in the same period last year. Gross profit came in at $569.8 million, or a 74% margin, while non-GAAP gross profit was $585.7 million, or a 76% margin. Free cash flow nearly doubled year-over-year to $137.6 million.
