According to Times Now, the film grossed Rs 242 crore worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing installment in the Drishyam series and one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. The Times of India reported that the film crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone within a few days of its theatrical release.

Franchise History

The Drishyam series began with the original film released in 2013, directed by Jeethu Joseph. The movie became a landmark Malayalam thriller and was later remade in several Indian and international languages, including Chinese and Korean. Drishyam 2 followed in 2021, and was streamed directly on OTT while also having a theatrical release. Drishyam 3 expanded Georgekutty's story further.

Director's Previous Remarks

Jeethu Joseph had earlier spoken about the possibility of making Drishyam 4. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmaker revealed that Antony Perumbavoor had repeatedly encouraged him to think about the next chapter after completing each film. "They said to keep thinking about the story; after the first, keep thinking about the second. Then, while shooting part two, he said let's start three. Now he's saying, 'I think you should work on the fourth one'," Jeethu Joseph said.

The Times of India also reported that Jeethu Joseph said he was not interested in rushing into another sequel merely because of box-office performance.
