WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Michael Harris II hit a solo homer, Mauricio Dubon had an RBI ground-rule double, and Tyler Mahle pitched five strong innings as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 in the Little League Classic on Sunday night at Bowman Field.

Harris connected on an 0-2 slider from Milwaukee reliever Aaron Ashby in the top of the ninth, sending it over the right-field fence for his 21st home run of the season and giving Atlanta an insurance run. The Braves, leading the NL East, won for only the second time in seven games.

Dubon’s run-scoring ground-rule double in the second inning bounced over the wall in right. He later walked, advanced to third on a single by Austin Riley, and scored on a fielding error by Milwaukee first baseman Andrew Vaughn in the sixth. Sean Murphy drove in Atlanta’s other run with an infield single in the top of the fourth.

Mahle (5-10) allowed one run on six hits over five innings to earn the win. Raisel Iglesias got pinch-hitter Gary Sanchez to pop out with the potential tying run on third base in the eighth, then pitched a scoreless ninth for his 27th save.

Jake Bauers drove in the first run for Milwaukee with an RBI single. Shane Drohan (6-5) took the loss, allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings. The Brewers had their three-game winning streak snapped and lost for only the second time in eight games.

Brewers center fielder Garrett Mitchell was hit by a 94 mph fastball from Mahle while trying to bunt in the fourth inning and left the game with a bruised forearm. Rookie Luis Lara replaced him and delivered an RBI triple in the eighth.

The game was a historic occasion for Milwaukee, marking the first time the franchise hosted a game at a venue other than Sick’s Stadium, County Stadium, or American Field. Originally scheduled for American Family Field, the matchup was moved to Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the annual Little League Classic. Rain fell intermittently through the afternoon, but the game went on as planned.
