Poll Shakeup Following Preseason Action

A single week of preseason games reshaped the USA TODAY Florida Super 10 poll, with Miami Central jumping to No. 1 in Class 3A. The Rockets, who entered the preseason ranked second, earned the top spot after an impressive win against Jones and benefited from Cardinal Mooney's shutout loss to St. Thomas Aquinas. The unanimous selection places Miami Central alongside St. Thomas Aquinas (Class 5A) and American Heritage (Class 4A), both of which received all first-place votes in their respective classes.

Stability and Narrow Margins in Other Classes

While Miami Central climbed, other class leaders held their ground, though often by slim margins. Venice maintained its No. 1 ranking in Class 6A but received only five first-place votes, with DeLand picking up four and Vero Beach earning one. In Class 2A, Chaminade-Madonna stayed on top after routing Norland in a preseason matchup, collecting six first-place votes, while Carol City secured the other four following a 24-23 overtime win at West Boca. Carrollwood Day also remained No. 1 in Class 1A, but not without competition.

Historic Vote Distribution in Class 1A

Class 1A produced a notable first for the Super 10 poll: four teams received first-place votes in a single class. Carrollwood Day led with six, followed by Hawthorne with two, and Trinity Christian and True North Classical each with one. Trinity Christian, despite receiving just one first-place vote, picked up the most second-place votes in the class, according to the poll results.
