Mahajan Imaging & Labs and Neuberg Diagnostics Form Joint Venture to Expand Pathology and Genomics in North India

Integrated diagnostic healthcare provider Mahajan Imaging & Labs has entered into a joint venture partnership with Neuberg Diagnostics to expand pathology and wellness services across north India, the companies announced. The collaboration combines Mahajan Imaging & Labs' experience in radiology, nuclear medicine, PET CT and advanced diagnostics, along with its established presence across Delhi-NCR and Jaipur, with Neuberg's pathology and genomics capabilities, clinical and operational expertise, and multi-market experience in India, the UAE, South Africa and the USA.

Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Founder and Chairman of Mahajan Imaging & Labs, said, "Radiology, pathology, or genomics today does not exist in isolation. Increasingly, clinical decisions require information from imaging, pathology, molecular testing and genomics to be considered together." He added, "This association with Neuberg allows us to accelerate that existing capability by bringing in additional scale, infrastructure and expertise." In a separate interaction, he told PTI, "We wanted to scale up pathology without losing quality. Neuberg's expertise in pathology is what we looked at while deciding this partnership."

G S K Velu, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Neuberg Diagnostics, said, "It took us two years of extensive engagement to align our vision and build this partnership on a foundation of genuine trust. Our commitment is to bring world-class diagnostic technology within reach of every citizen, prioritising early diagnosis and prevention to improve quality of life across North India." He also noted that Mahajan Imaging & Labs has a legacy spanning over 35 years.

Kabir Mahajan, who will lead the joint venture, said the immediate priority is execution, strengthening pathology and genomics capabilities, improving collection and sample logistics, integrating digital systems, and reducing turnaround times.

The companies did not share financial details of the deal. They said the partnership will look to make diagnostics more accessible and affordable and work towards greater integration across pathology, imaging, nuclear medicine and genomics. The collaboration will involve investments in laboratory infrastructure, collection capabilities and advanced testing.

The announcement comes as India's organised diagnostics sector continues to expand beyond conventional testing. ICRA estimates that organised diagnostic players could see 12-14% revenue growth in FY2027, supported by wellness testing, specialised services and deeper penetration into non-metro markets.

The transaction was advised by Kornerstone Advisors and EY on the Mahajan side, with C&S Partners as legal advisor and Alvarez & Marsal and Dhruva Advisors conducting vendor due diligence. Neuberg was advised by Khaitan & Co. and Deloitte.
