The untitled horror thriller starring Ajay Devgn has officially begun production. The film, directed by Rohit Jugraj, went on floors on September 2, according to the Lokmat Times. It is a collaboration between Devgn Films and Panorama Studios, continuing a partnership that previously produced projects such as 'Shaitaan' and 'Raid 2'.

Production Announcement

Devgn, the lead actor and a producer on the project, announced the commencement of shooting on Wednesday through social media. As reported by The Tribune, Devgn shared a message on Instagram stating: "Darr ka hone wala hai. Our untitled horror thriller officially goes on floors today. Directed by @rohitjugraj. A @devgnfilms & @panorama_studios Production." The Times of India also noted that Devgn made a similar announcement on his X handle.

The film is jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak.

About the Film

The makers have described the film as an intense and atmospheric horror thriller that will explore a new world of mystery, fear and suspense, according to the Lokmat Times. The Tribune and The Times of India described it as a "haunting new world of mystery, fear and suspense." Rohit Jugraj, the director, has previously worked across different genres, including the Punjabi 'Sardaar Ji' franchise, the SonyLIV series 'Chamak' and the Netflix series 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein'.

In comments shared with Variety, Devgn said: "Audiences have given 'Shaitaan' and 'Raid 2' a lot of love. We are coming together once again with Panorama Studios for this intense horror thriller. It's a strong story and I'm looking forward to bringing it to audiences."

Producer Abhishek Pathak also spoke about the project. As reported by The Times of India, Pathak said he is drawn to stories that awaken curiosity and make audiences wonder what lies beyond the next frame. He described the script as having an eerie world, haunted characters and a deepening atmosphere of mystery and dread. He added that the suspense comes not from spectacle but from the questions it raises and the unease it quietly builds. Pathak said that with Ajay Devgn as actor and producer, the project gained an added creative dimension, and he felt Rohit Jugraj was the right filmmaker to bring the material to life.

Previous Collaborations

Devgn Films and Panorama Studios have previously worked together on 'Shaitaan', the 2024 supernatural horror film that starred Devgn alongside R. Madhavan and Jyotika, as well as 'Raid 2'. The reuniting of the two production houses follows the success of these projects.

Upcoming Projects

Devgn is currently gearing up for the release of 'Drishyam: The Conclusion', the third installment of the Hindi 'Drishyam' franchise. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 2, 2026, according to the Lokmat Times and The Tribune. It is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, and written by Abhishek Pathak, Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. Alongside Devgn, Tabu, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Sriya Saran are set to reprise their roles, while Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat have joined the cast in new roles.

Devgn was most recently seen in 'Dhamaal 4', which released in July 2026. According to one report, the film received mixed responses from critics and audiences.
