First Child for Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky

Lady Gaga and her fiancé, tech entrepreneur and philanthropist Michael Polansky, have welcomed their first child together, according to multiple US media reports. The news emerged after the couple was photographed walking with a newborn in Northern California, with Page Six publishing images of the family outing on Friday.

The 40-year-old singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was seen holding the baby close to her chest while strolling alongside Polansky, 42. A source confirmed the birth to Page Six and People, but no additional details about the child—including its name, sex, or date of birth—have been made public. Neither Gaga nor Polansky has publicly confirmed the news or addressed it on social media.

Relationship and Engagement

Gaga and Polansky have been romantically linked since early 2020. They were first spotted together at a New Year's party, and later went Instagram-official with a photo from a yacht. The couple became engaged in 2024, with Gaga publicly confirming the engagement during the Paris Olympics. She introduced Polansky as her fiancé while greeting then-French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at an Olympic swimming event. A source later told Page Six that the couple had actually become engaged several months before that public interaction.

Polansky is a Harvard-educated entrepreneur and philanthropist. He co-founded Outer Biosciences and serves as executive director and cofounder of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. According to People, he holds degrees in applied mathematics and computer science from Harvard. He has also been involved in Gaga's creative work, co-writing several songs on her albums "Harlequin" and "Mayhem."

Gaga on Motherhood

The singer has long spoken publicly about her desire to become a mother. In a 2020 interview with InStyle, she said, "I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mum. Isn't it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it's our job to keep it alive."

More recently, during an appearance on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" in October 2025, Gaga said, "I would like to do many things... But what I really want is to be a mum. That's my next starring role, I hope." She echoed this sentiment in a March 2025 interview with People, saying, "I really want to be a mom. The greatest vision I have is that."

In a July 2025 episode of "The Howard Stern Show," Gaga spoke about her hopes for her future child. "I just really want them to have a very safe and happy childhood, so you're not wrong that that will become my No. 1 priority," she said. She also confirmed that music would be a part of her child's life, adding, "I also have to see what it's like and what our kid needs."

According to a source for People, Gaga and Polansky "both took time off of work this summer to be with" their new baby. The source added that the couple "both beam when they talk about being parents," and that Polansky "seems lighter, happier."

Privacy and Future Plans

The couple has largely kept their relationship private. In a September 2024 Vogue interview, Gaga described Polansky as "so smart and so kind" and "a very private guy," adding that he is "not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other." She also said that she and Polansky had talked about allowing their future children to "be their own people." In an interview with Elle, Gaga elaborated on this, saying, "I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them. I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me."
