Kiara Advani's Water-Bowl BTS Pic From 'Toxic' Goes Viral
As the release of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups approaches, Kiara Advani has given fans a rare glimpse into the making of the film with a striking behind-the-scenes photograph. The image, shared on social media, shows Advani inside a large transparent water-filled bowl, a setup she described as part of a tough circus-style act.
The photo quickly went viral, drawing attention not just for its visual novelty but for the physical demands it hinted at. Advani accompanied the post with a reflection on how films often push actors into unfamiliar territory, calling the experience a “crazy challenge” that helped her realize her own capabilities.
In her message, Advani spoke about the importance of embracing the unknown and continuing to grow, noting that Toxic pushed her beyond her comfort zone. She concluded with a note on gaining new skills and maintaining a passion for taking risks.
Context: Mixed Reactions to Promotional Material
The behind-the-scenes reveal comes amid ongoing discussion about the film’s promotional campaign. Earlier promotional materials, including the teaser and the song “Tabaahi,” drew criticism from some viewers. The teaser faced backlash over a graphic intimate scene involving the protagonist and an unnamed woman in a van, with accusations of pandering to the male gaze. The song “Tabaahi” also sparked controversy, with Advani herself becoming the target of online trolling.
Following the trailer’s release, some viewers expressed disappointment over what they perceived as limited screen time for the female leads and raised questions about the portrayal of women in the film. At the same time, many fans praised Yash’s gangster avatar and the film’s larger-than-life visuals.
Advance Bookings and Release
Despite the mixed reactions, Toxic has generated significant buzz. Advance bookings opened on Friday, five days ahead of the theatrical release, and the film has reportedly grossed ₹18 crore in advance ticket sales on its opening day. With three days still to go before release, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on August 26.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash in the lead, alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth. Yash has previously praised Advani’s performance, saying audiences will see a different side of the actress in the film.
