Katie Price has reportedly ended her marriage to Lee Andrews, just eight months after the couple wed in Dubai in January. According to multiple reports, the former glamour model made the decision after discovering that Andrews's crypto wallet contained only £2.22, far less than the millions he had claimed.
Price, 48, is said to have informed Andrews of the split via WhatsApp, telling him: "I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?" A source told The Sun that "the marriage is done" and that Price "will never go to Dubai to see Lee again."
The reported breakdown comes after a period of intense public scrutiny of the couple's relationship, which began in late January and was marked by a whirlwind romance and a quick wedding. Andrews, who is reportedly detained in Al Awir prison in Dubai, had previously claimed to have $50 million (£37 million) in a cryptocurrency wallet and promised Price some of the funds. However, when Price allegedly accessed the account using a recovery phrase Andrews had given her, a financial expert found it contained just $3 (£2.22).
A source said the discovery was the "final straw" in a relationship that had already been strained by "an accumulation of many things." The source added that Andrews "has deeply embarrassed her." Andrews is reportedly trying to raise funds to pay a fine for his release from jail.
Price is also said to have spoken to a top divorce lawyer in London, according to reports. The star, who once had "owned by Lee" tattooed on her body, has not mentioned Andrews on social media for weeks.
The reported split follows a series of public appearances in which Price's behaviour sparked speculation about the state of her marriage. Days before the news broke, she was seen flashing her wedding ring at Manchester Pride. In mid-August, she was photographed partying in Ibiza without her engagement ring.
Andrews's legal troubles have been a recurring theme in the couple's short marriage. He was first placed behind bars in May, then released in June, only to be returned to Al Awir prison in July. Reports indicate his arrests are connected to allegations of fraud, unpaid debts, and private civil disputes. He maintains that he was initially accused of espionage, before later admitting he had a civil case in Dubai.
