Actors visit Tiruchendur temple ahead of 'Sardar 2'
Actors Karthi and SJ Suryah, along with actress Ashika Ranganath, visited the Tiruchendur Subramanya Swamy Temple in Thoothukudi, offering prayers ahead of the release of their upcoming film 'Sardar 2'. The temple is one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan, also known as Arupadai Veedu, a group of six foremost Hindu temples dedicated to the deity.
During their visit, the trio offered prayers at several shrines inside the temple complex, including those of Lord Subramanya Swamy, Valli, Deivayanai, Lord Shanmugar, Lord Perumal, Lord Sathru Samhara Moorthy, and Lord Dakshinamurthy. After completing their prayers, the actors stepped out of the temple, where devotees had gathered to catch a glimpse of them. As news of their arrival spread, a large number of fans and devotees gathered inside the temple premises, creating a brief bustle in the area. The crowd waved at Karthi and SJ Suryah, who waved back warmly.
'Sardar 2' release and promotional activities
The temple visit comes just days before 'Sardar 2' is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 10. The film, directed by S. Mithran, is the sequel to 'Sardar', a spy action thriller that featured Karthi in dual roles as a father and son. The sequel expands the world of Chandrabose while introducing SJ Suryah as the antagonist Black Dagger. Ashika Ranganath is also part of the sequel's cast.
The visit follows the recent audio and trailer launch of 'Sardar 2' in Chennai, where the makers unveiled the much-awaited trailer. The trailer has raised expectations with its action sequences, according to reports. The first 'Sardar' featured Rajisha, Raashii Khanna, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu, and Balaji Sakthivel in its cast.
Film personalities and political leaders frequently visit the Tiruchendur Subramanya Swamy Temple to seek blessings, as reported by Deccan Chronicle.
