On September 1, a judge granted Jax Taylor a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright. The order was both partly granted and partly denied, with the judge noting that part of the request was denied because an adequate ruling requires a hearing. A court date has been scheduled for September 24, the day Taylor's temporary order is set to expire.

Taylor, 47, had filed a request asking the court to deny Cartwright's temporary restraining order and instead order that she stay more than 100 yards away from him and his home. In his filing, Taylor claimed that Cartwright, 37, has repeatedly referred to him as "an abuser" and that she "seems determined to make this a label that sticks, even though [he has] done nothing to deserve this."

Cartwright was granted a temporary restraining order against Taylor in August after accusing him of several instances of domestic violence. Taylor has denied the allegations.

Taylor's Statement

After the August order was granted, Taylor broke his silence and admitted to regrettable behavior while denying his estranged wife's allegations. In a statement to Us Weekly, Taylor said: "I made a lot of mistakes and behaved in ways during that period of my life that I'm truly ashamed of and regret and take full responsibility for. The person I was in 2024, during the darkest time of my life and at the height of my addiction, is not the person I am today."

Taylor added: "I got help, went to treatment, and today I'm one year and nine months sober. I've remained committed to treatment and therapy, working on myself and changing my life. There are allegations being made that I strongly dispute. The full story, context and evidence will be addressed where it belongs — in court. I will respect the court's orders and the legal process."

Cartwright's Allegations

In her August filing, Cartwright alleged that Taylor exhibited "coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and even physical violence perpetrated upon" her for nearly ten years. She also alleged that Taylor once threatened to "gut [her] like a fish" and physically attacked her. Cartwright's request for sole custody of their five-year-old son, Cruz, was denied by the court.

Background

Taylor and Cartwright, best known for their time on Vanderpump Rules, married in 2019 and separated in 2024. Taylor has since moved on with their once-shared publicist, Lori Krebs. In text messages obtained by TMZ, Cartwright was upset about Taylor bringing Krebs around their son. The messages included exchanges where Taylor wrote: "Your sick brain thought it was OK to have a random guy sleep in the same house with my son … a guy you had to pay to be your boyfriend non the less." Cartwright replied: "You broke the law Lori is to never be around my son." Taylor claimed that Krebs has been around since their son was born, while Cartwright's response was: "You are not to have anyone around Cruz including her."

Taylor's filing also alleged that Cartwright contacted the Fox Network and "caused the cancellation" of Taylor's $175,000 role on Special Forces. The documents alleged that Cartwright "falsely told tens of millions of viewers on Watch What Happens Live" that Taylor skipped his custodial weekend to visit his girlfriend. Taylor also claimed that Cartwright contacted an autism-awareness nonprofit he wanted to partner with and allegedly caused the organization to "sever ties with him."

Us Weekly reached out to Cartwright's representative for comment but did not immediately hear back.
