While the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are anticipated to retain a familiar design language, a flurry of rumors and supply chain reports suggests a host of internal and subtle external upgrades are on the horizon, alongside a likely shift in pricing strategy.
Launch Window and Market Entry
According to MacRumors, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max in the first half of September, with a public release following in the second half of the month. This timeline is echoed by Mashable, which cites supply chain and retail sources pointing to a launch event on September 9. For the Indian market, Mashable suggests pre-orders could open around September 12, with availability and deliveries commencing from September 18.
The September event may not be limited to the Pro models, as MacRumors also reports that a foldable "iPhone Ultra" could be unveiled alongside. Looking further out, the same report indicates that the regular iPhone 18, a lower-end iPhone 18e, and a second-generation iPhone Air are not expected until around March 2027.
Pricing Pressures and Rollout Strategy
Consumers may need to prepare for a price adjustment with the new models. MacRumors estimates that U.S. starting prices for the iPhone 18 Pro could be $200 to $300 higher than the previous generation.
