Expected Timeline for the iPhone 18 Series Emerges
As September approaches, reports from multiple outlets indicate that Apple is preparing to unveil its next-generation iPhone lineup. The most anticipated products are the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, along with the company's first foldable iPhone, all expected to be announced at a keynote event on Wednesday, September 9.
The event is expected to take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, at 10 a.m. Pacific time, 1 p.m. Eastern, and 6 p.m. UK time, according to reporting from Forbes.
Event Announcement Expected Late August
Apple is expected to send out invitations for the September 9 event as early as August 25 or 26. Forbes reports that Apple has announced its annual iPhone event two weeks in advance for four consecutive years, making August 26 the stronger prediction for this year's announcement. However, August 25 remains a possibility.
Pre-Orders and iOS 27 Rollout
Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 series are expected to open on Saturday, September 12. This date avoids Friday, September 11, which marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks; a 2015 precedent saw pre-orders move to a Saturday for the same reason, Forbes noted.
The iOS 27 software update, expected to be compatible with iPhone 11 and newer models, is projected for release on Monday, September 14.
Sales and the Standard iPhone 18
According to Forbes, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are scheduled to go on sale on Friday, September 18. The standard iPhone 18 is not expected until spring 2027, according to the same reports.
As with all unannounced Apple products, the schedule could shift, and the company has not yet officially confirmed these dates.
