New Signing Announced for IGPL's Second Half
Indian golfer Arjun Prasad has joined the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) ahead of the four-week second half of the season, which is scheduled to tee off in late September. The 27-year-old was formally welcomed into the circuit by IGPL CEO Uttam Singh Mundy, joining Aman Raj, Karandeep Kochhar, and Pukhraj Singh Gill on the league's roster, according to a release reported by ANI.
Prasad's induction comes on the back of an exceptional run of form. After years of podium finishes, he registered his breakthrough professional title at the Tamil Nadu Open in Coimbatore in late 2025. That victory anchored a career-best campaign featuring two runner-up finishes and nine top-10 results, helping him finish fourth on the domestic Order of Merit.
Prasad's Journey and Achievements
Prasad, regarded as one of the country's brightest junior prodigies, turned professional in 2017 at just 17 years old after a stellar amateur career. In 2016, he became the third Indian to win the Fazal Series Asia Grand Final in China, following Rashid Khan and Abhijit Singh Chadha. The same year, he represented India at the Eisenhower Trophy and earned the Best Amateur award at the Indian Open.
He also made history by becoming the youngest player to secure an Asian Tour card through the 2017 Qualifying School. To maintain his upward trajectory, Prasad relocated to Gurugram for training alongside his tour peers, a move he credited for his domestic success and appearances on the Hotel Planner Tour in Europe.
