New Indictments in Sexual Abuse Case
Gary Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders, a couple from Ohio, face new indictments on charges of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, according to reports from The daily Star and The Sun U.S Edition. The daily Star identified Gary Siders Jr. as 37 and Elizabeth Siders as 33, while The Sun U.S Edition listed his age as 36. Both outlets reported that the pair were indicted on two counts each of the sexual offenses. The daily Star specified the charges as two counts of third-degree sexual battery and third-degree felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
Authorities allege the conduct took place over a period between January and September 2022 and involved a minor more than 10 years younger than the couple. The Sun U.S Edition described the timeframe as roughly eight months. Vinton County Attorney General Andy Wilson stated that the alleged victim is not a member of the Siders’ immediate family, a detail carried by The Sun U.S Edition and referenced in local reports cited by The daily Star.
Prosecutors indicated that law enforcement had sought DNA from Gary Siders Jr. in connection with the child sex abuse case. Serving search warrants related to that investigation unexpectedly led authorities to the home where the 16 children were living, according to a statement reported by The daily Star. Prosecutors further noted that the child sex abuse cases involve interfamily relations and do not pose a risk to the general public.
Conditions Uncovered at the Residence
The search revealed 16 children, ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years, living in a roughly 12-by-12-foot room, as described across the reporting. The Sun U.S Edition added that the space was contaminated with human waste and that several of the children required hospital treatment. Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson characterized the conditions as “pure evil,” a description reported by both outlets.
Gary Siders Jr. and Elizabeth Siders had already been facing child endangerment charges stemming from their June arrests. The daily Star reported that each was indicted on 19 counts of child endangerment, while The Sun U.S Edition stated they faced 16 counts each from the June 30 arrests. Gary Jr. was also facing multiple counts of public indecency from a separate case, according to The Sun U.S Edition.
The grandparents, Gary Siders Sr. and Christina Siders, were likewise charged in connection with the endangerment allegations. The daily Star reported that Christina Siders, 68, faced 19 counts and Gary Siders Sr., 73, faced 16 counts. The Sun U.S Edition described Christina as 67 and stated that both grandparents were charged with 16 counts of felony child endangerment each. Gary Siders Sr. was later released from jail due to an ailing medical condition after prosecutors expressed concern that his continued incarceration could bankrupt Vinton County, according to The Sun U.S Edition. Gary Jr., Elizabeth, and Christina were each held on $300,000 bonds, that outlet reported.
Additional Suspects and Family Connections
The Sun U.S Edition reported that the broader investigation began in December 2025 into the alleged sexual abuse of two minors, resulting in the arrests of Josh Saunders, 23, and Brandon Henderson Sr., 40. Saunders was indicted on three counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition. Henderson faced 21 charges, including endangering children, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery. Evidence from that initial probe prompted a second investigation in March into a separate sexual misconduct case involving another child, which eventually led authorities to Gary Jr. and Elizabeth.
Family connections have also emerged. Henderson Sr. is in a relationship with one of Gary Jr.’s older sisters, Virginia Saunders. Josh Saunders is the son of Virginia and a cousin of the 16 children. Virginia married Joshua Saunders, 42, in April 2003, according to marriage records obtained by NBC affiliate WCMH and cited by The Sun U.S Edition. The elder Saunders has been in prison since 2009 serving a 15-years-to-life murder sentence, and it is believed he is the father of the younger man charged. Virginia has another 15-year-old daughter living with her other sister and husband; it remains unknown whether that teenager is the biological daughter of Henderson Sr. or the elder Saunders, The Sun U.S Edition reported.

Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson described the latest indictments as developments in ongoing investigations, stating that “our work is far from complete,” according to The daily Star. The Sun U.S Edition similarly quoted him as saying the work “is far from done.” Authorities have emphasized that the sexual abuse cases under examination involve interfamily relations.
The investigation continues as prosecutors pursue the various charges against the parents, grandparents, and the two additional suspects identified in the related probes.
