Sales Growth in August
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported total two-wheeler sales of 5,79,162 units in August 2026, registering an 8.28% year-on-year increase over the 5,34,861 units sold in August 2025, as per company statements cited by The Economic Times and RushLane. Domestic sales stood at 5,17,329 units, up 7.55% from 4,81,021 units in the same month last year. Exports during the month reached 61,833 units, a 14.85% increase from 53,840 units a year earlier.
Sales also improved sequentially, rising 6.67% over July 2026, according to RushLane. The outlet noted that domestic demand strengthened heading into the festive season, while exports declined on a month-on-month basis.
Export Trends
While exports grew year-on-year, they fell from 66,498 units in July to 61,833 units in August, a 7.02% month-on-month drop, as reported by RushLane. Exports accounted for 10.68% of HMSI's total volumes in August.
Fiscal Year-to-Date Performance
For the April-August 2026 period (the first five months of FY27), HMSI recorded total sales of 27,33,758 units, up 12.71% from 24,25,391 units in the same period last year, according to both outlets. Domestic sales during this period rose 10.61% to 24,07,304 units, while exports increased 31.08% to 3,26,454 units, as per the company figures reported by The Economic Times and RushLane.
New Model Launches
In a separate announcement, Honda announced the launch of ADV160 and Rebel 300 motorcycles in India, as reported by RushLane.
