Rodrigues Edges Hernandez in Sacramento Main Event

Gregory Rodrigues earned a unanimous decision victory over Anthony "Fluffy" Hernandez in the main event of UFC Fight Night 285 on Saturday night at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. The judges scored the bout 48-47, 49-46, and 48-47, according to Forbes, which reported that Rodrigues was "too big, strong, tough and resilient" for the crowd favorite.

Both fighters earned a Fight of the Night bonus for their efforts, and two other athletes on the card took home $100,000 bonuses.

The matchup was initially previewed as a compelling clash of styles. Hernandez entered with a 15-3-0 record, coming off a Round 3 KO/TKO loss to Sean Strickland in February that snapped an eight-fight win streak. Rodrigues carried a 19-6-0 mark and had won three straight since a loss to Jared Cannonier in February 2025, most recently stopping Brunno Ferreira in the first round at UFC 326.

Statistical breakdowns prior to the fight highlighted contrasting strengths. Rodrigues held an edge in significant strikes landed per minute (5.53 to 4.57), while Hernandez was more accurate with his striking (65.88% to 53.28%) and held significant advantages in takedowns (5.88 to 1.90 per fight) and submission attempts (1.63 to 0.38). The Fight

Rodrigues controlled much of the contest with a heavy leg-kicking attack, chopping at Hernandez's legs with calf kicks and landing power shots throughout. However, he could not finish Hernandez, who showed resilience and nearly turned the fight around in the third round with his own offensive flurry, as reported by Forbes.

Despite Hernandez's mid-fight surge, the judges sided with Rodrigues, whose relentless pressure and output proved decisive.

Post-Fight Callout and Co-Main Event

Following the win, Rodrigues called out former champion Dricus du Plessis for his next fight. Forbes noted that Rodrigues could land in the Top 5 of the middleweight rankings when they update, making a matchup with du Plessis plausible.

In the co-main event, Vitor Petrino won a unanimous decision over Serghei Spivac. Forbes described the bout as a "snooze fest," adding that Spivac seemed "mostly disinterested" in pushing himself. Petrino may seek a quick turnaround to move past what Forbes called a "forgettable" fight.

Other Standouts

Forbes highlighted two other fighters who stood out on the card. Shanelle Dyer impressed as a powerful striker in the women's strawweight division, a weight class the publication said is "badly in need of a new star." Stan Dorsainvil, who took his fight on short notice while working at Home Depot, secured a significant win and displayed toughness, power, and a strong overall game.
