Grasim targets Rs 2 lakh crore revenue in FY27

Grasim Industries is poised to reach a consolidated revenue of Rs 2 lakh crore in FY27, nearly double the level five years ago, Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla said at the holding firm's 79th annual general meeting on Friday. The growth will be driven by a diversified portfolio spanning building materials, financial services, digital commerce and renewable energy.

Birla said the composition of Grasim's earnings is becoming increasingly balanced, with established businesses generating strong cash flows even as newer growth engines scale up rapidly. "This gives us confidence that, in FY27, Grasim is poised to reach Rs 2 lakh crore of consolidated revenue, nearly double the level five years ago, establishing Grasim as a powerful example of what trusted institutions can achieve when they scale with clarity, conviction and purpose," he said.

The company stands at an "important inflection point" — stronger in scale, broader in ambition, and more deeply aligned with India's growth journey, Birla added.

Current performance and milestones

Grasim, the holding company of the flagship Aditya Birla Group firms such as UltraTech Cement, Aditya Birla Capital, Birla Opus, Aditya Birla Renewables and Birla Pivot, reported its "highest-ever" consolidated revenue of Rs 1.75 lakh crore in FY26. The company, which will complete 80 years of incorporation on August 25, now operates 10 business lines and has a market capitalisation exceeding Rs 2 trillion, Birla noted.

In FY26, Grasim sustained momentum across its core businesses, advanced in newer ventures, and remained focused on capital allocation and operational excellence, according to the chairman. He highlighted UltraTech Cement's milestone of crossing 200 million tonnes per annum of grey cement capacity in April this year.

The paints business, Birla Opus, has emerged as a significant player in the decorative paints segment within two years of launch. Revenue doubled year-on-year, and the business secured a 10 per cent revenue market share on a standalone basis in FY26, making it the number two player by capacity market share. Together with Birla White putty, the group's revenue market share in decorative paints reached the "early teens", Birla said.

Growth platforms

Birla Pivot, the digital commerce platform, surpassed its annual revenue guidance of Rs 8,500 crore a year ahead of schedule. Aditya Birla Renewables, the renewable energy arm, has transformed from a 2 GW platform to one with clear visibility of around 10 GW, with ambitions to scale to 20 GW and beyond.

Grasim is also investing in digital tools, analytics, automation and technology-led decision-making across its businesses, Birla said.

These segments, alongside the established businesses, underpin the company's expectation of reaching the Rs 2 lakh crore revenue figure in the next fiscal year, he indicated.
