Google Cloud launches Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services to target capital markets and banking workflows
Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, a purpose-built agentic AI platform designed for financial professionals, according to two industry outlets. The product, announced on August 25, 2026, targets workflows in capital markets and corporate banking.
The platform includes a Google-managed Financial Research agent, more than 50 new skills with specialized instructions for financial roles, enterprise data connectors, and an expanding third-party agent ecosystem. It is built on the Gemini Enterprise foundation and is initially available in preview for the capital markets and corporate banking industries.
According to the announcements, the Financial Research agent provides transparency into its reasoning through confidence scores, explicit methodologies, data snapshots, and precise source citations. The platform also includes secure MCP connectors to licensed data sources such as FactSet, S&P Global, Moody's, MSCI, PitchBook, and SEC Edgar. An open partner ecosystem spans Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Infosys, and Capgemini.
Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services functions natively within Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, according to one of the reports. A governed control plane enforces VPC and CMEK policies with private data isolation.
Adoption barriers and market context
The launch comes as enterprises cite two major barriers to AI deployment in finance. One report cites that 55.4% of decision makers flag AI agent reliability and hallucination management as a top obstacle, while 52.6% cite data privacy and security vulnerabilities. The same report notes that Google Cloud currently holds 10.9% share in AI application enablement, compared to OpenAI's 23.9% and Microsoft's 20.1%.
Market projections included in the reporting suggest the AI platforms market reached $109.9B in 2025 and is forecast to hit $181.3B in 2026 at a 28.7% compound annual growth rate through 2030. Additionally, 53.9% of production AI users already deploy Google Gemini models, and 51.7% of surveyed decision makers identify knowledge management and document analysis as a top AI use case.
Deutsche Bank as design partner
Deutsche Bank is a key design partner for the Financial Research agent and will deploy it across its Corporate Bank division, according to the announcements. The bank is also exploring the agent's capabilities for financial crime risk management, advanced forecasting, and pitch delivery.
Marie-Jeanne Deverdun, Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer at Deutsche Bank, said in the announcement: "As a design partner, Deutsche Bank has helped shape this capability in view of the realities of a highly regulated industry—from data protection and governance to the workflows our teams use every day."
Other financial institutions already using Gemini Enterprise include CME Group, BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group, Macquarie Bank, and Signal Iduna, according to the announcement.
Workflow outcomes
The reporting highlights specific workflow improvements. Key outcomes include compressing bond portfolio risk analysis to sub-5-minute execution and reducing client pitch timelines from days to minutes. The platform aims to automate complex, end-to-end financial workflows, addressing the need for speed and precision in regulated markets.
